OUR ACTIVITIES

How We Empower Students

Our scholarship program is designed to assist students who are motivated to achieve higher education despite various challenges. In a country with one of the highest literacy rates in Asia, many children are compelled to abandon their studies due to insufficient financial resources and emotional support from their families. We are committed to providing scholarships that cover educational expenses from the sixth grade through university, ensuring that these deserving students can continue their education and become valuable members of society.

SISU SENEHASA Scholarship Selection Process

Our Selection Committee

The SISU SENEHASA Scholarship program is managed by a dedicated committee appointed by the Group Managing Director. This committee includes representatives from participating organizations, ensuring fair and transparent decision-making.

The SISU SENEHASA committee is responsible for:

  • Deciding on scholarship amounts and adjusting them as needed.
  • Ensuring continued support while maintaining program integrity.

Who Will Be Considered?

The SISU SENEHASA Scholarship is awarded to students facing financial hardship in selected areas. Students will be considered if they meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Students from low-income families who struggle to afford primary, secondary, or tertiary education due to financial constraints.
  2. Students who have lost their father, with the family relying solely on their mother for financial support, where the household income is insufficient to cover educational expenses.
  3. Students whose father has a disability that prevents stable employment, and whose mother also lacks sufficient income to support their education.
  4. Students from single-parent households, where the father is no longer present, and the mother does not have adequate financial resources to fund their children’s education.
  5. Students whose father is affected by substance dependency, resulting in financial instability and a lack of support for their education.

How We Select & Support Students

  • The committee carefully reviews applications, considering financial need and academic potential.
  • We work closely with school teachers, university faculty, and lecturers to monitor student progress and ensure scholarships are used effectively.

SISU SENEHASA Scholarship Offering Process

We understand aving a structured scholarship offering process is crucial as it ensures transparency, fairness, and efficient fund management, while also building trust with donors, measuring impact, and enhancing the charity’s reputation, ultimately amplifying its social impact.
